Fall Favorites

2011 HalloweenIt’s finally fall, one of my favorite times of year. Don’t get me wrong I love summertime, spending time at the pool, going to roller coaster parks, and going on vacation with my family. But for some reason I really look forward to fall. Maybe it’s the cooler temperatures, the leaves turning colors, or maybe it’s because my favorite holiday of the year is right around the corner, Halloween. It’s also nice because the kids are back in school. My darling wife Natalie is a stay-at-home mom, so with two preteen girls home and having friends over all throughout the summer the drama in our house can run a little high. So for me fall is about things calming down at home, looking forward to Halloween, and one more thing… Pumpkin recipes!

I wanted to reach out and highlight some of my fall recipes, and also to reach out to YOU! That’s right I want to hear from you, the reader. I want to know, what kind of recipes you would like to see? Would you like to see more slow cooker recipes, pumpkin recipes, low calorie, gluten free, organic, or raw vegan recipes? Well you’re not likely to see those recipes here, but let me know what kinds of recipes you’d like to see more of.

Kitchen Tools I Love

Carving PumpkinsI also wanted to mention that I created a Kitchen Tools I Love page, highlighting the kitchen tools that I couldn’t live without. I consider myself a minimalist in the kitchen but these are the devices that I think are worth the money because they work very well. I’ve also included the most important book I have in my kitchen, The Flavor Bible. So check out my page, Kitchen Tools I Love.

Clark

ClarkOne more thing, this is Clark, he’s a thirteen week old Boxer mix puppy. Can someone tell me how you teach a dog to walk on a leash? Our cat Taz walks on a leash but not out dog, how weird is that?

You can follow me on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You can tweet me right now with the Twitter button below. Let me know what you think, what kind of recipes you’d like to see, what you’re being for Halloween. Then check out the fall favorites below!

Hi Jim! I agree, a cast iron skillet and good chef knives are a necessity in a cook’s kitchen. I also couldn’t live without my food processor and mixer.

Clark is adorable! My daughter and her boyfriend just got a puppy that looks so much like him, but she is a pug mix. She didn’t walk on a leash for several weeks, and this is the case for most puppies. You just have to be patient. Once they realize that the leash means that they get to go exploring the neighborhood they start walking like pros. 🙂

Thanks. We need to do more with him on the leash, even if it’s inside the house. We play frisbee with him in the back yard and he will play fetch with my wife in the kitchen. The funny thing is I always thought our cat was lazy, but this dog sleeps even more than the cat.
